One more reason to despise the Quebec government

Now I have yet another reason to despise the wretched separatist government of Quebec -- the so-called health-care system.

I was informed yesterday by the secretary of a referring surgeon that it would be two years before a plastic surgeon would be able to give me an appointment to talk with me.

Not two years to take action, but two years for a consult.
What if this thing is malignant, I asked. What if it's melanoma?
Yes, she said, it's awful.
She said she could give me name of doctor in private practice who could act more promptly. She promised to call right back.
And she did.
She said the free enterprise physician could meet with me next January for a consult. Not action, consultation.
Jesus H. Christ, I said. This may be my life we're talking about here.
Once again she agreed it was awful.

My friend Norman went through this stall and delay bullshit last year. By the time they finished screwing around with him, he lost half his right ear and part of his cheek to cancer.

Okay, I said to the secretary, who was trying to be helpful and is a very nice young woman, have you got the results of the biopsy from the procedure your surgeon did last July?

Oh, she said, did you want to know the results?

I paused, then said -- as gently and politely as I could despite the mounting rage in my angry heart -- yes, ma'am, I very much want to know.

Dr. Petraki will be in tomorrow afternoon. I'll ask him to call you.

Why, you ask, is this the government's fault?

Because that group of Pequiste turds have slashed and burned the health and education budgets to pursue their insane scheme to make Quebec into a separate third-world country.

There aren't enough doctors, there aren't enough teachers, and there aren't enough school books, but there are plenty of forced municipal mergers and government flunkies flitting around the globe preaching separation.

You can bet your bottom loonie that if Premier Bernard Landry or Minister Louise Harel needed to see a surgeon, they would not have to wait two years for a consultative appointment.
